Out and about in service of the curves crown – TK Max

The sun is shining, it smells like spring and my closet is screaming out for some light clothing for the first mild days. Inspired by some contributions in a “Fashion Talk” I am on my way to TK MAX at Waterfront Bremen. They   offer name brand clothes at reasonable prices (also in Plus Sizes). The two-story Bremen branch is located in a mall right at the Weser River .

TK Max 1First impression: full, bustling and chaotic, but what would you  expect on a Saturday afternoon. I am starting my search.

Racks full of tops, jackets, sweaters, pants. Every so often a piece size 16 (US size 12). And where are the Plus Sizes?

Finally I find a puny rack (compared against the other offers) in a shabby space in the back, right next to the escalator and I wonder: “What’s that?A poor selection of a few tops, jeans and sweaters; nothing I would personally buy.

TK Max2But I don’t give up hope. Maybe I’ll find something in the shoe compartment, wearing sizeI’m kinda big-footed. On the first floor the same frustrating sight: A relatively narrow shelf with a few pairs of shoes which don’t do it for me at all.

I look around a bit in the home department and  discover some really nice and cheap decorative items, but don’t buy any.

The lesson is clear: It doesn’t make sense for a Plus Sizer to drive all the way to TK Max. But if you’re already at the Waterfront Bremen, it may be worthwhile to pay a short visit. Perhaps there is yet another bargain to find at a different occasion.
